When the Bird is Caught in the Net...

“’Come, let us take our fill of love till morning; let us delight ourselves with love. For my husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey; he took a bag of money with him; at full moon he will come home.’

“With much seductive speech she persuades him; with her smooth talk she compels him. All at once he follows her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver; as a bird rushes into a snare; he does not know that it will cost him his life.”

Sin is very cunning. At first, it entices with pleasure, for surely no one would choose sin if it did not offer any pleasure. God may not be believed in, or, may not “be here with us,” so we do not consider that one day Christ is returning, instead opting for the fleeting pleasures of the adulteress, the seductress.

Morality, contrary to public opinion, is not relative. Any thought that it is comes from the idea that there is no God: No “Creator,” no God who came, no God who is to come. But that is a lie.

God is Creator. He is real and not a myth, and therefore, as Creator has the right to ordain a standard of morality. It is clearly revealed in the New Testament. And sin – all sin has a price to be paid. It may offer pleasure, but always, ultimately, it demands a price. God does not “impose” His absolute standard of morality to oppress or suppress. He does so because as Creator, He knows what will bring us ultimate Joy which at the same time glorifies Him as that all-knowing, all-loving God.

God desires life for you. So do I and I know the fullness of life comes from Christ alone!

So my message for you today: Live for Christ. Learn about God and His ways...come to the cross for salvation and discover what it means to live...amen?!
